Skål International Hobart Venue of the Year


Skål is a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. Its members, the industry’s managers and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest. Skål Club Hobart was founded on 12 March 1966 and held its inaugural meeting in the form of a dinner at Hadley’s Hotel on Wednesday 1st June, 1966


The Hobart club meets for a luncheon on the third Wednesday of every month with the event attracting between 40 – 150 attendees.

At each lunch the attendees are asked to give the venue a score out of 10, taking into consideration to ambience, service, timeliness, quality, cost and menu.


Lunch venues should be private and able to provide a line of site to all members for presentations.

Venues in Hobart CBD will attract higher numbers of attendees.

Minimum capacity of venues should be 50pax.


The venue of the year is run from March until the following Feb with the winner announced at the March luncheon.


The winning venue is provided with a $500 digital media budget to promote their venue.
